Katie Head’s JustGiving fundraiser has already hit £1,055 – 211% of its original £500 target – from 63 supporters.
The cash will help develop the school’s Year R outside learning space.
Explains Katie on the crowdfunding page: “Our children at Bitterne Manor love to be outside, particularly as many of them live in flats and don't have access to outside areas readily.”
She says the outdoor area hasn’t been developed for over 15 years, and “is now very tired and needs updating with purposeful equipment that enables them to develop physically and mentally”.
“It would be fantastic to raise enough funds to have a bike track painted, a climbing wall put in and be able to properly zone areas and resource these with more up to date and relevant equipment so the children get the most out of their time here.”
The skydive takes place on Saturday (July 3).
