Riverside groundworks cost revealed

The cost of recent groundworks near the ramp from the Triangle in Riverside Park, to create a “turning head” for vehicles collecting rubbish from the compactor bins, has been revealed.

In response to our Environmental Information Regulations request to Southampton City Council, the authority said that the anticipated final cost for the work, carried out by Schofield Ground Works, is £15,567.23.

Part of the work, which took place last month, also appears to have involved putting in some new drainage for the new tarmacked area.

It looks like this may well have also improved the situation on the adjacent cycle path, which regularly flooded during heavy rain.
