Who’s ready for a visit to the circus? This year’s ‘Haunted House on the Hill’ Halloween display is adopting a circus theme, as it raises yet more cash for charity Abby’s Heroes.

This time designer and organiser Liam Arscott says while we can expect clowns because “this year the circus is in town”, familiar attractions will also be present:
“We of course will have returning aspects like the giant spiders and of course the singing pumpkins!” he said.
Last year the event raised over £1600 for charity, and Liam said “it would be amazing to beat that this year!”.
The chosen charity, Abby’s Heroes, offers financial and practical support to families whose children have cancer.
The Drummond Arms pub on Somerset Road in Portswood will also be hosting events, including a Halloween party on Saturday, October 29 and a Halloween Quiz on Sunday, October 30, both from 8pm, both also in aid of Abby’s Heroes to help boost the total.
The date for the display is, of course, Monday, October 31. The location is 48 Thorold Road, SO18 1LG and it all starts from 5.30pm. Liam said he’s hoping to minimise queues by eliminating “stopping points” this year.
There will be collection buckets on the day, and a new JustGiving page has been set up from this link where you can donate now.
