As reported earlier in the year by bitternepark.info, the proposal is to demolish light industrial units and an office on the now unused site
Ten public comments have been received from surrounding residents, one in support, six objecting and three offering comments.
These focus around concerns about parking, impact on sewage system, and perceived privacy issues, future extensions, and “overdevelopment”.
One of a number commenting about parking said: “There is already insufficient parking for residents of Macnaghten Road without the addition of 6 more homes that themselves will lack sufficient off road parking.”
A commenter in support however said: “I live in Harcourt Road and while I don't object to this application I would be concerned about the sewage capacity. If this is taken care of, I don't particularly have an issue with the parking, if these properties allow for off street parking.”
They added that as the property is currently standing vacant it had become a target for anti-social behaviour.
The application is due to be heard on Tuesday, September 17. The agenda is here, where you can also download the officer’s detailed report.
