As reported, the proposal was to demolish unused light industrial units and an office.
Public comments had raised concerns over impact on the sewage system, privacy, future extensions, “overdevelopment” and parking.
One resident of the road who couldn’t attend the panel meeting said in a submitted statement: “Please … we can’t have anymore development, there is NO MORE ROOM the road is a potential accident waiting to happen!!”.
A parking assessment by Connect Consultants on behalf of T Clarke & Son Ltd said the proposal complied with the council’s adopted standards, with provision of two spaces per dwelling.
The planning approval is subject to several conditions: the developer must follow a Habitats Regulation Assessment and agree to a Section 106 legal agreement, which includes contributions for local highway improvements and nature conservation.
They must also submit a survey to repair any road damage caused during construction.
