The South-East is under an Amber health alert for cold weather, with snow warnings also issued.

An Amber Cold Health Alert is now in effect across the South-East until 12:00 pm on Sunday 12 January, alongside a Yellow Snow Warning for 8 January.
The council (SCC) advises extra caution on roads, as icy patches are expected. Gritting teams are already active, it says, and travel disruptions may occur, so commuters are urged to check transport updates.

The cold weather can worsen health issues, especially for those over 65 or with long-term conditions. Stay warm and check on vulnerable individuals is the advice.
