Steve Collins, head of Maritime Volunteer Service Southampton, which is based at Shamrock Quay and a recognised national maritime training organisation, writes:
The Southampton Unit of the Maritime Volunteer Service will be taking the Lord Mayor Cllr. James Baillie and his family on a tour of the River Itchen from Shamrock Quay up to the Head of Navigation at Woodmill and back on Saturday 30th August 2:00pm-4:00pm.
The Lord Mayor of Southampton, by dint of his position, is also the Admiral of the Port of Southampton. The privately owned vessel “Wizard of Bembridge” will be allowed the privilege of flying the Admiral of the Port’s Flag on the day. Wizard will be escorted by the MVS vessel "Itchen Volunteer".
