Calling all families! Stuck for something to do? Why not pop down to Hoglands Park this Friday (July 25) for the annual Southampton Children’s Play Day.
Children’s organisations and independent volunteers will be providing a wide range of exciting activities for children of all ages and their families.
Confirmed events include:
• The Bike Doctor with cycle-powered smoothie making
• Mill Cottage petting farm
• A Hampshire Fire Service truck
• Windmill making
• Football Challenges
• Water, sand, wood, and messy play
• African drumming, songs and stories
• Giant board games
• Scouts badge-making
• Real car painting
• Girl Guides making friendship bracelets
• Street dance
The Children’s Play Day has been running for nearly 20 years, and last year 5000 people went along to Hoglands Park to join in.
The event is facilitated by Southampton Children’s Play Association, a charity that aims to provide a variety of play experiences to local children, encouraging child-centred play with the belief that every child has the right to freely chosen play. See their website for more information.
