Update: Ekco radio sign: crisis over!
Scaffolding is being erected in front of the Ekco Radio sign, which greets visitors as they arrive in Bitterne Park over Cobden Bridge. The Ekco sign was revealed in 2008 when a modern billboard was removed. Last September developer McCarthy & Stone said construction of its retirement housing next to Cobden Bridge was due to start in March, with the first occupations expected in autumn 2016.
