The driver wasn't hurt, and police say “the cassette box containing the cash was later found discarded in Rowlands Walk”.

The three men are described as wearing dark coloured tracksuits. It's thought that a dark covered Volvo that was later found abandoned in Hillgrove Road could be linked to the incident.

“We know this was late at night, however we would like to appeal to anyone who was in the Bitterne precinct, Hillgrove Road or Rowlands Walk areas around this time who saw or heard anything suspicious, to get in contact with us,” said Detective Inspector James Stewart.
