Organisers, who are all volunteers, say it will be “a free, open to all, cross between a music fest with local bands performing and a village show with local crafts people and traders' stalls”.
“We are looking at a variety of activities on the day such as a dog show, tug of war, a limbo pole and other things like tin can ally, giant jenga etc. We might even go a bit posh with croquet, all ideas welcome," they explain on their page of the Crowdfunder website.
It’s hoped the £1,580 target can be reached by June 1, which will buy equipment that can be used every year without the cost of hiring, such as Gazebos, a small stage and a PA.

The gear could also be available for other community organisations to use, too.
“We can’t charge people [for entry] because it’s on a public park… and we don’t want to. We want it to be a community event where everyone can come along and get involved,” explained local resident Paul Jenks on the promotional video for the campaign.
And he added that it’s an “all or nothing deal”: “If you pledge some money, and we don’t raise the money we need to put it on, you get your money back – no problem. Of course, you don’t get a festival, either.”
If you would like to contribute, you can do so from the Crowdfunder website.
