Crowds cheer marathon runners in Bitterne Park

Crowds turned out to create a community vibe in Bitterne Park on Sunday, to cheer on Southampton marathon runners as they came through Whitworth Crescent and into the Triangle. The Ukulele Jam provided the soundtrack and individually cheered on many runners as they continued onto the onward riverside stretch of their grueling challenge.

Here's brief footage of the fire that broke out near the St Mary's stadium at about 1pm yesterday (March 6) sending smoke over Southampton and causing the cancellation of the scheduled football match with Preston North End. Various roads near the area were still reported to be closed on Thursday. More than 100 firefighters were at the fire at one point, reported the BBC.
